Experience the enrichment of viable cell-specific cells during the sample processing step like never before. Levitation Technology™ allows you to confidently proceed with your project knowing that unwanted cell depletion has occurred – see it in real time! By using fluorescence labeling, though not required, cells can be visualized as they are depleted away from cells of interest during levitation. In this video, see the Calcein AM (green) stained cells move quickly down to the bottom of the separation channel leaving only the CellTracker™ Red stained cells levitating in the top channel.
To display RBC removal in realtime, PBMCs were spiked with RBCs that were labeled with Calcein AM and CellTracker Red respectively and run on the LeviCell EOS in parallel. With LeviSelect RBC depletion (Lane2) as compared to no depletion control sample (Lane 3), the red stained RBC band has disappeared from the levitating viable cells in the top fraction. The relative intensity band width, as displayed by LeviMetrics™, is narrower than when the RBCs remain in the sample.

How it works
LeviSelect Kits combine the power of Levitation Technology with target specific enrichment of cell subtypes. Viable and cell-specific enrichment are performed simultaneously on the LeviCell systems. By combining the natural density and magnetic susceptibility of cells within a paramagnetic compound with the addition of antibodies conjugated to nanospheres of different densities, cells can levitate at different heights. This process allows the separation of specific cells of interest from unwanted cells during a single LeviCell run.Identifying and enriching cells of interest from mixed cell populations is fundamental to studying disease models and basic cell biology. Levitation Technology provides the gentlest cell enrichment method, preserving target-specific cells of interest unbiasedly.
LeviSelect workflow
Enabling cell-specific enrichment on the LeviCell systems is as easy as viable cell enrichment. Prepare your sample by adding Levitation Agent and LeviSelect reagents. After pre-inserting the cartridge into the instrument, load the sample to enrich for cells of interest. Collect viable cell for downstream applications.
